This college introduced the ‘Women’s’ cell in which students are encouraged to participate. Both in the campus and in the city, the endeavor is to decrease the negative forces face by women and handle those issues that are related to their welfare. They have also participated in social causes like protesting against acid attack on women, taking out silent processions against domestic violence besides celebrating Women’s Day on 8th March every year keeping a particular theme in mind so as to sensitize society to all issues related to women. The above college was established and in the year 1943 Women’s National Education Society took it over to serve the women of the society by imparting sound education and uplifting their condition. Their aim was to educate women so that in turn they educate their family and this in turn will educate the nation. This college has contributed a lot to the women’s society in Mangalore and is responsible for churning out many women entrepreneurs and leaders along with professionals who are playing a pivotal role in their job environment.

In this way it benefits them both financially and emotionally. The Government is still contemplating on what more means can be provided to empower the women in their state. They also plan to give them Rs 100/- as a monthly pension after they turn into Senior Citizens so as to provide some relief and support to them.
